Jury decides rocket plant pollution
compromised immune systems

Larry pictured with his daughter Melody and wife DeborahLarry is a medical geographer concerned about potential health effects of environmental perchlorate. Since 1997, his town of Rancho Cordova CA has lost 20 municipal water wells to rocket fuel contamination.

In 1997-1999 Larry served as a volunteer community representative on the California Dept. of Health Services's Aerojet Superfund Site Health Assessment Team in Rancho Cordova, California. Currently he performs a similar function for the US EPA-sponsored Community Advisory Group for Aerojet Superfund Site Issues. Chemical structure of perchlorate

A community advisory group is an open forum for exchanging health concerns and scientific information between environmental regulators and neighborhoods impacted by Superfund sites. All of the material on this webpage consists of Larry's personal opinions and concerns, and does not reflect an official position of the Community Advisory Group on which he serves.

RAS proto-oncogene activation from NDMA in the absence of tumor necrosis factor alpha (perchlorate's apparent effect) promotes thyroid cancer. In 2005 this diagram was circulated amongst community leaders in Rancho Cordova. The diagram will be distributed in exposed neighborhoods should the drinking water ever contain contamination greater than the current 4ppb limit for perchlorate and 5 ppt limit for nitrosodimethylamine.
